HONOLULU -- Police reports on the arrest of the Mayor's spokesman Bill Brennan show he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.13.Brennan was driving erratically on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction near the Koko Head overpass early Friday morning, according to the report.A blood alcohol level above 0.08 is considered driving under the influence of alcohol.
The arresting officer said Brennan was pulled over at Waialae Avenue and Hunakai Street after the officer observed Brennan drive into the right shoulder of the freeway and then swerve back on the road, straddling traffic lanes.The state Driver's License Revocation Office said Brennan will lose his license for three months.A city representative on Wednesday released a statement saying the mayor suspended Brennan without pay for five days. Mayor Mufi Hannemann's spokesman took a leave of absence after the arrest.Brennan faces separate criminal proceedings in District Court on Sept. 19.
