American Savings Warns Of Phishing Scam
Automated Calls From Mainland Ask For Banking Information

HONOLULU -- American Savings Bank sent out an alert on Thursday about a phone-calling scam.The phishing scam starts with automated phone calls from the mainland falsely representing the financial institution.The recorded calls tell people that their American Savings credit card was deactivated or they have been approved for a new credit card. The message asks for the call receiver’s card number, personal identification number, expiration date and three-digit security code.
American Savings Bank said it does not conduct automated phone calls or solicit customers for confidential information by phone or e-mail.If you have responded to one of the calls or an e-mail, American Savings Bank asked that you call their customer service line at 627-6900 or 800-272-2566.
